six circles collage
Six circles of various media on a canvas painted in dark metallic copper. The canvas was finished with a low-gloss varnish before the circles and wire were applied. Copper wire is used for the "stitching." The entire piece was then sprayed with a flexible, non-yellowing fixative. Mixed-media including metallic acrylic, pearlescent and iridescent acrylic mediums, cut paper (including an original hand written letter from 1920), copper wire, a postage stamp, bristol board, watercolor paper, and gloss varnish on canvas. Size: 5 x 5 x 1.5 inches. This collage is on a gallery profile stretched canvas, 1.5" deep: heavy duty canvas, staple-free edges, tailored corners. No need to frame this piece -- the sides and back are painted as well (the image itself wraps around to one side) and it is ready for hanging; it even stands by itself on a table-top or shelf. Completed 03.17.07.
